Introducing the New PlebNames Logo: A Bitcoin Identity

As one of the developers of PlebNames.org, I’m excited to reveal our newly designed logo that represents our Bitcoin-native name protocol. After numerous iterations and explorations with my colleague @michispebach, we’ve finalized a design that captures the essence of what PlebNames stands for.

The Design Process

The journey to our final logo wasn’t a straight path. We explored various concepts, but ultimately drew inspiration from the universally recognized ’@’ symbol, merging it with Bitcoin’s iconic ₿ symbol. The result is a unique identifier that immediately communicates our core function: a name system built directly on the Bitcoin blockchain.

Design Elements

The logo features:

• A stylized Bitcoin symbol at its center, establishing our foundation on Bitcoin
• A circular enclosure, reminiscent of the ’@’ symbol, representing connectivity and digital identity
• A monochromatic design, allowing for flexibility as our branding evolves

For Plebs, By Plebs

The “Pleb” in PlebNames comes directly from Bitcoin subculture—a term the community has embraced to describe everyday Bitcoin enthusiasts. Our name protocol is built primarily for these Bitcoin plebs, though we envision broader adoption in the future.

What PlebNames.org Does

For those unfamiliar, PlebNames.org provides a name system inscribed directly onto the Bitcoin blockchain. This creates a decentralized alternative to traditional naming systems, giving users true ownership of their digital identities on just Bitcoin.

What’s Next

While this logo is presented in monochrome for now, I will be developing the color scheme and broader visual identity in the coming weeks. The foundation is set, and I’m excited to build upon it.

Our project is already live and continuously evolving. The logo represents not just where we are, but where we’re headed—creating a Bitcoin-native name infrastructure for plebs worldwide.
